Responsibilities

  • Assist in database administration which includes installation and configuration, upgrade/patching, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance of Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL databases deployed in all environments;
  • Remotely assist with databases in production environments;
  • Stay up to date with the latest version of Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, including operating system compatibility issues, new features and utilities;
  • Implement and monitor backup and disaster recovery solutions;
  • Assist in data extraction and migration between databases;
  • Support various teams regarding database/query tuning and performance, data modeling, schema design and review;
  • Maintain security according to best practices and generate security solutions that balance security and customer needs;
  • Develop scripts (including stored procedures) for various database maintenance tasks;
  • Implement international standards for managing international trade data (WCO, WTO);
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the line manager;
  • Ensure the daily operation of the system;
  • Install and maintain hardware, software and operating systems;
  • Implement software tools for data administration;
  • Contribute to the optimization of systems, establish rules for the use of Operating Systems, participate in their reliability/security;
  • Troubleshoot on site;
  • Intervene on system bays, if necessary;
  • Prepare, configure, install and administer: workstations and printers, servers, equipment security;
  • Ensure data security and integrity;
  • Analyze, process and document incidents;
  • Ensure data backups and restorations;
  • Collect internal user IT needs;
  • Analyze needs and propose technical solutions;
  • Analyze user comments and observations and provide appropriate solutions.

Profile sought

  • Be of Beninese nationality;
  • Be at least 18 years old on the date of submission of application files;
  • Hold a BAC+3 in Management Information Systems / Information Systems Management;
  • Have five (05) years of relevant experience in the field;
  • Knowledge of Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL DBA in a high-volume, high-impact transactional environment, including creation of stored procedures, functions and triggers;
  • Have in-depth knowledge of database security standards and best practices;
  • Ability to learn new technologies with minimal supervision;
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively;
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Certification is an asset.
